Specialist Agreement

Last updated: 1 July 2025. This agreement applies to all Specialists operating in New Zealand and Australia.

1. Independent Contractor Status

As a Specialist on Fixperts, you are an independent contractor and not an employee, agent, partner, or franchisee of Rapid Digital Growth Ltd or Fixperts. You are solely responsible for your own tax obligations, insurance, equipment, and compliance with applicable laws.

Nothing in this agreement creates an employment relationship. Fixperts does not control how you perform your services — we only provide the technology platform to connect you with Clients.

2. Licences and Qualifications

You must hold all licences, certifications, registrations, and insurance required by law to perform the services you offer. This includes but is not limited to:

New Zealand

  • Plumbers and Gasfitters — registered with the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board
  • Electricians — registered with the Electrical Workers Registration Board
  • Builders — Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) where required

Australia

  • Plumbers — licensed in your state/territory
  • Electricians — licensed in your state/territory
  • Builders — licensed in your state/territory where required

Fixperts reserves the right to verify your licences at any time and to suspend your account if you cannot provide proof of valid licences for the services you offer.

3. Fee Structure

Fixperts Specialist Fee Schedule

First 7 days (trial period)0% fee
After 7 days8% per completed job

The Fixperts fee is automatically deducted from your payout when payment is released by the Client. You will always receive your quoted amount minus the applicable fee.

Example: You quote $200 for a job. After your trial period, you receive $184 ($200 minus 8% = $16 fee). Clients pay exactly the quoted amount — there are no extra fees or surcharges added on top.

Fixperts reserves the right to change the fee structure with 30 days written notice to all Specialists.

4. Payments and Payouts

All payments are processed through Stripe. To receive payments, you must connect your bank account through the Stripe Connect onboarding process in your Fixperts dashboard. Fixperts does not store your bank account details — these are held securely by Stripe.

Payouts are initiated automatically when a Client confirms job completion. Funds typically arrive in your bank account within 1-2 business days depending on your bank.

Payments are held in escrow until Client confirmation. If a dispute is raised, payment may be withheld until the dispute is resolved.

5. Tax Obligations

As an independent contractor, you are solely responsible for all tax obligations arising from your earnings on Fixperts. This includes:

New Zealand

  • Income tax on earnings — file with IRD
  • GST registration if earnings exceed $60,000 per year

Australia

  • Income tax on earnings — file with ATO
  • GST registration if earnings exceed $75,000 AUD per year
  • ABN required for Australian Specialists

Fixperts provides an earnings summary in your dashboard to assist with tax filing. We recommend consulting a tax professional for advice specific to your situation.
